Congratulations to AYSO 54's Coach Montalvo and the GU10 Division for an outstanding season!

Led by Coach Antonio Montalvo, the Cerritos Golden Lions won the GU10 Area E League Championship final and finished 3rd in the Section 11 League Playoffs on February 12. Coach Antonio also led the GU10 All Star team to a silver medal in the Section 11 All Star Tournament on February 19. What a remarkable accomplishment for these outstanding girls. There are around 700 GU10 league teams and close to 100 GU 10 All Star teams in Section 11 and these kids were among the best of the best! Great job.

Fall 2012 Sign Up Dates Announced!

The American Youth Soccer Organization Region 54 will be holding soccer sign ups for the upcoming 2012 Fall Season on Monday, April 23 at Cerritos Park East, Thursday, May 3 at La Palma Central Park and Monday, May 7 in a soon to be announced location, most likely in the city of Buena Park. The location will be update on this page as soon as it becomes available. All children ages four to 18 are welcome to play.

Region 54 serves the surrounding communities of Cerritos, Artesia, La Palma and Buena Park. Over 800 kids enjoyed playing soccer through this program in 2011. A copy of the child's birth certificate is needed for first time players. The registration fee will be $125, but parents who pre-register online at www.eayso.org and bring two signed copies of their printed registration will receive a $15 registration discount.

Every registered player will receive a complete uniform, including jersey, shorts and socks. Also every player will play at least half of every game of the season. Fall season practices will start in August and league play will begin in September.

An important part of AYSO is volunteering, which helps keep the costs down for everyone. Training classes and continuing education are provided to all coach and referee volunteers.

Over the past year, Region 54 has been one of the area’s most decorated programs. Its Girls Under 14 division has produced two state finalists and this past fall season was highlighted by the “Golden Lions” Girls Under 10 team winning the area title while also finishing third the Southern California Sectional Championship and the region’s Girls Under 19 squad winning the Southern California Sectional Championship.

The American Youth Soccer Organization's mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.

AYSO is dedicated to child development in a soccer environment that is safe, fair and fun. The kids are the focus of all AYSO programs. Keep visiting this page for more information or e-mail aysoregion54@gmail.com
